Publication Venue Research

As someone who chose to research obesity and chronic food illnesses, finding a venue had some difficulty. Some were too gimmicky with a trendy focus on weight loss that often targeted aging women. Some covered healthcare and medical aspects, but I felt were too geared towards healthcare professionals than the average day patient. Some didn’t have enough focus on what I was looking for, and some had a mission statement that didn’t align with my research focus.

In the end, I found The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, or AJCN. A publication venue that focuses on obesity and nutrition-based diseases. It puts a focus on peer-reviewed primary research on the latest topics in nutritional health. I think it would be perfect for my research topic, and even has some articles that will help in my research!

I bet finding the right venue for this topic was extremely difficult, especially considering that many of the popular solutions to obesity are usually TikTok trends or one-off “challenges.” But since this venue you found seems to be entirely dedicated to scientific solutions through research, it sounds like a great place for your project. Awesome job. 😀
